CNC Turning in Shipley, West Yorkshire
Development Engineering Services have been specialising in CNC turning for over 25 years. Our investment in CNC turning machinery allows us to manufacture bespoke and intricate products to the specifications provided by our customers.
We always aim to work in consultation with our customers from design stage through to the manufacture and delivery of the product. This allows us to influence the outcome of the goods in terms of the high level of quality whilst maintaining manufacturing efficiencies.
What is CNC machining?
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) is a digital manufacturing process led by a computer program. We use our CAD/CAM design software to build realistic computer models of parts taken from our customer’s designs. The finished CAD file is then used to produce a computer program that in turn controls the CNC turning machine utilising a range of tools. The programming language is called G-code which allows CNC turning machines to make small and very precise cutting tool movements.
What is CNC turning?
CNC Turning is one of the oldest forms of manufacturing and refers to how a product is manufactured and the associated tooling required. It is predominantly used to produce cylindrical shaped products. The material is spun at high speed and a cutting tool shaves away material to produce the desired shape and finish.
The benefits of CNC turning:
Short and long batch runs
Our CNC turning services offer our customers the capability for long and short batch runs, custom prototypes and final end use components.
Range of industries
We are able to manufacture parts for a wide range of industries from aerospace to subsea and telecommunications by utilising our CNC turning services.
Speed of production
Our CNC turning machines are able to produce manufactured parts much quicker than older more traditional machining.
Cost efficiency
The ability to provide short and long batch runs allow for greater manufacturing efficiencies and therefore reduces costs for our customers. As CNC programming is extremely precise it therefore reduces material wastage and the high speed of the machining all contribute to greater cost efficiencies.
Exact and precise
We can manufacture parts that are highly exact and precise by utilising our CNC turning machines.
Completion of CNC turning parts
Once the production run is complete, parts are carefully inspected by the team in order to meet our high quality standards; packaged into boxes and lastly shipped in time for the production deadline.
